Bookings / Making Appointments

Contact us with as much advance notice as possible. This helps with getting the day and time of your choice easier. Same day appointments are rare.

Upon Arrival

As a first time guest, please arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. You will be provided with a small amount of paper work, that will help us to tailor your treatments to specifically meet your needs.

You may wish to have a list of current medications you are taking, or ask your physician if a specific treatment is appropriate for you. Some medications care contradictions for certain spa treatments.

Gratuities are never required, but always appreciated. Tips are a great way to show your technician that you enjoyed the service they provided. You may tip in cash, credit card, gift certificate, or check. Guests may tip in person, or leave gratuity with the front desk staff.

Cell Phone Use

To ensure that all guests and yourself receive a time of complete relaxation while at the spa, we ask that you refrain from cell phone use during your visit, and place it on silent.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available in any denomination & can be purchased in person at the spa, on our website, or on face book. They are non-refundable. We are not responsible for lost or stolen certificates. Waxing Pot & Spa gift certificates may be used towards any service or products we offer. Prices are subject to change at any time. If the service prices have changed since the purchase of the card, the card is worth the value of the purchase price.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive late for an appointment, you will receive the service for which you are booked for the remaining time allotted. Unless it is possible to give you the full service time. But be prepared for your service time to be reduced.

Face & Body Waxing Information

Semi-perminate hair removal. You can be hairless in the area that was waxed for 2 to 3 weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different hair growth cycle . Almost any area of the body can be waxed.

How Much Hair Should You Have?

A general rule of thumb is that hair needs to be 1/4 inch (about the length of a grain of rice) if it's fine, a half-inch if it's coarse. Any shorter and it's too hard for the wax to grab onto. You'll be sent home if hair isn't long enough. If your hair is too long feel free to trim it, or we can trim it for you. Just don't go too short.

What Happens When You Arrive?

You will fill out a client intake form, then taken to a private room with a door. You'll be left alone to remove all clothing that is covering the area to be waxed. You will be directed to lie on a table covered in clean paper or sheets. A small towel will be given to you for your modesty. Moist wet ones are available for freshening up.

How to Cut Down on the Pain

I recommend taking 2 ibuprofen or acetaminophen an hour before your wax. Get waxed regularly every 4-6 weeks. If you wait longer or only get waxed a couple times a year, it will be much more painful.

Importance of Regular Waxing

While waxing is not a pain free process, it will be worth it. If you stick to a regular schedule all year long you will have less pain and irritation with each treatment. You will also notice that your hair will grow back less, and will not be as coarse.

After Wax Care

I suggest to stay away from tanning beds, hot tubs, and luffas for 24-48 hours as the area will be slightly sensitive. Applying olive oil or lavender to the waxed area will help with sensitivity.

Ingrown hairs or irritation

If, after the wax, you later develop bumps, redness or ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate the area with a body scrub and then smooth on a lotion or cleanser with alpha hydroxy acid (the word "acid" makes it sound like it will sting, but it doesn't). To keep ingrown hairs at bay, exfoliate the area 2 to 3 times a week once the hair starts growing back.
